The 12-person supercommittee in Congress charged with reducing the federal deficit by Turkey Day has now been given the task of finding a way to pay for Obama’s new $450-billion dollar job-creation bill. What I’m having a hard time understanding is why, after almost 2 years of complaining about his lack of attention to the unemployment situation in this country, Republicans are now complaining about a plan to deal with that very problem (however vague that plan may be) ??
Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), a freshman senator, says “It’s a little discouraging that at some point he’s going to give us additional responsibilities when we’re struggling to meet the ones we already have.” I’ve got a suggestion for Sen. Portman and the rest of the “cast of 12”, maybe it wouldn’t be so hard if you understood that there has to be compromise. Adults in the workplace get additional assignments all the time, added onto an already massive pile, and are expected to get it done in a timely manner. Stop bitching, buckle down, and get to work. I know 2-year-old children who don’t have as many tantrums and make as much noise as those GOPers on Capitol Hill.
You want to know why you guys are always the source of late-night comedic jokes ?? Because you ARE a joke. If you did your job with even a modicum of respect for yourself, your peers, and your nation, we’d have no reason to make fun of you. As it stands now, you deserve whatever you get. Now, GET TO WORK !! And be speedy about it. I want to have a peaceful Turkey Day, with my football and green beans.
